Elementymology & Elements MultidictNames that did not make it | by Peter van der Krogt |
The variant names are discussed with the element in question. The names of alleged elements are discussed at the most appropriate place. For instance, Wasium and Nebulium are discussed with Iron, because the first was impure Iron, and the second one was introduced because of some spectral lines of nebulae, which later turned out to be of Iron.
In the window to the left you will find an alphabetical list of all variant names and names of non-existent elements.
Not included are the names of the elements known from antiquity, which have their own names in all languages (see The seven metals known from antiquity in >100 languages).
Just click on the chemical symbol and the element page will come in THIS window.
