Beschreibung / Description

30 meter high column, commemorating the 25th anniversary (1841) and the 60th birthday of king Wilhelm I. von Württemberg in 1846. Building started in 1842 after design by archtitect was Johann Michael von Knapp and in 1846 it was finished. The statues and reliefs were made by the sculptor Theodor Wagner. The statues represent the four estates; three of the four reliefs represent the king's military successes against Napoleon Bonaparte, only one is devoted to a political event.

In 1863 a 5 m high statue of Concordia by Ludwig von Hofer was placed on the top.
