Description

Sandstone statue of two young women in traditional dress of Alsace and Lorraine holding a wreath of mourning.

The statue is flanked by tablets with the victims of the first and second world wars. It is depicted on the Saint Odile Fountain.

Annotation

Originally, the statue was a war memorial for the first world war. It escaped the destruction of the village in 1944 en was replaced, without restoriation, in 1958.
