HYPERION  | 
HYPERION (1930-1960 Despite his tiny size – he stood only 15.1½ hands high at maturity - hyperion, owned and bred by the 17th Earl of Derby, was a brilliant champion. Always

Also of significance were gwen tudor (Britain), alibhai and khaled (usa) and aristophanes (Argentina). Of his daughters, lady angela became dam of nearctic, sire of northern dancer. This bronze statue of hyperion, by John Skeaping was bequeathed to the Jockey Club by Lord Derby and in 1996 was moved here from its original position at Woodlands Stud, the horse's former home.  |
