Description

At the façade of the South Africa house are a few sculptures:

Statue of Bartolomeu Dias
Stone statue of Dias with at his foot the name DIAS, in a niche in the façade, with in the background a ship and a cross with the year 1488.

Winged springbok
Gilded springbok above entrance, it is about life-sized for a normal springbok and is depicted reared up on its hind legs with its rump and wing tips forming fixing points to the building.
