Description

The monument consists of a statue of the writer and two sculptures of characters from his works on both sides of the statue.

On the left, a double equestrian statue of the Civil War soldiers, Josif (Osip) Abramovich Levinson - Иосиф (Осип) Абрамович Левинсон and Metelitsa - Метелица from the novel «Разгром» The Rout (1927), abouth the struggle of the Red Army and a group of partisans against the Japanese in the Far East of Russia;
On the right,on a bronze plinth without pedestal, a group of four boys and a girl, the heroes from the novel «Молодая гвардия» - The Young Guard (1946) (based upon real events of World War II) about the underground anti-fascist Komsomol organization named Young Guard, which fought against the Nazis in the occupied city Krasnodon (in the Ukrainian SSR).
