Vaudois patriot who attempted to liberate the region of Vaud, which at that time was held by the Bernese. Betrayed by his own people, he was beheaded in 1723

The monument marks the exact location where Davel gathered 600 men under his lead (officers and enlisted), on Wednesday, March 31, 1723 the morning before marching on Lausanne.
The monument was erected in 1841 and the medaillon added in 1903-04.
