Description

Bronze statue of Schiller in a period costume with long skirt, holding a pencil and notebook in hand, as if he was listening to an inner voice.

On the corners of the base are four statues representing the four ages. In addition, they symbolize the influence of the poet to all groups of people:

  1. Childhood: Mother with baby.
  2. Youth: Young man with the walking stick.
  3. Adult: happy working citizen - iron worker.
  4. Old Age: old man with a book in his hands.

On the faces of the base are four high reliefs (almost statues), with below medallions with appropriate symbol:

  1. Poetry, a winged youth with a torch. In the medallion Pegasus.
  2. Drama, a woman with a lyra. In the medallion a tragic and satyric mask.
  3. Epica, a woman with long hair. In the medallion a pelican.
  4. Wisdom, a woman with a mirror and behind her a child?. In the medallion Pallas Athena with the owl.
