Description

Cast iron statue of the emperor with in his hand a document with the text "Saluti / et solatio / aegrorum" (To the healing and comfort of the sick).

Josef II is the founder of the Allgemeine Krankenhaus (AKH) in 1774. The statue was erected at the 100th anniversary.

An identical statue is also in St. Pölten, Hořovičky and several other places, the document shows different text and in some cases, the document is in a roll.
