Description

Statue of an Appenzell farmer with a morning star, looking towards the town of St. gallen. It stands on a boulder with the dates 1403-1903. The Battle of Vögelinsegg was a military conflict between Appenzell and the Abbey of St. Gall during the Appenzell Wars. It took place in the so-called Loch between Speicher and St. Gallen in present-day Canton of St. Gallen on May 15, 1403.
