Description

Sculpture group on the Steinborn Fountain (dating from 2003), illustrating the poem:
Vor Neugier zu entdecken den jungen Hans mit Dackel Hund
Mutter Hannah mit klein Inge
und Ursul mit dem Ball schön Rund

... to discover curiously the young Hans with his Dachshund
Mother Hannah, with little Inge
and Ursul with the ball nicely round

  1. Reading Boy, a boy reading a book lying on his back with his head on a pile of books, with a dog.
  2. Girl with ball, a little girl playing with a ball.
  3. Mother and child, a mother sitting on the basin edge, letting her daughter stand on the edge.

The group is based on a poem by Marlies Ebeling, the wife of the donator of this sculpture group.

Nine-year old Nils Neumeyer from Bad Hersfeld was the model for the reading boy.
