Description

Bronze statue of Mercury with a small boy, in the center of a large stone fountain basin.
The basin is circumscribed: ERRICHTET vnter der REGIERVNG des GROSSHERZOGS ERNST LVDWIG von HESSEN vnd bei RHEIN im JAHRE des GROSSEN KRIEGES 1915. The basin rests on a column surrounded by young merchildren.

Annotation

The fountain was a gift from the entrepeneur Ludo Mayer to Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig of Hessen, and was originally named Ernst Ludwig Fountain.
