Description

Bronze sculpture showing four persons as the central column in a fountain basin. The figures - Roland, a witch and two Nordhausen eccentric characters - are since 1955 the Roland group and the Nordhausen Roland Fest.
  1. Roland, with his foot on his shield.
  2. Hexe / Witch, holding a scale.
  3. Prof. Zwanziger - Johann Ferdinand Zwanziger (Nordhausen 1844 - Nordhausen 1919), glover, Nordhausen eccentric character (Nordhausen-Wiki).
  4. Der alte Ebersberg / The old Ebersberg - Karl Ebersberg (Nordhausen 1826 - Nordhausen 1893), market master, gardener, innkeeper of the Riesenhaus, Nordhausen character (Nordhausen-Wiki).
At the base a dog is climbing upwards.
