Description

Monument in two parts. The first part(1996) consists of three thin steel columns with circular discs in which figures are cut out. The second part (2003) depicts six steel figures dancing in a circle, around the concrete base is the text RIPOLL ciutat pubilla de la sardana 2003

Annotation

The sardana, a circle dance from northeast Spain, emerged in the mid-19th century as a key symbol of Catalonia. In 2003 Ripoll became the Ciutat Pubilla de la Sardana (Wikipedia).
