Statue of a tanner, with hides on his arm and a tool, the so-called "stryykkäysrautaan".

monogram OJ 1958

Annotation

Unveiled 5 July 1958. It was placed in front of the post office, because while digging for the fundaments, they found tanned skins.

Oskari Jauhiainen (Kilminki 1913 - Helsinki 1990), Finnish sculptor (Wikipedia).
