Description

Bronze statue of a woman spreading her mourning veil and stretching our her hand to the name of the town of Cherbourg. The figure symbolizes the Mother Country as well as Peace. It stands in the center of a semi-circular wall with plaques with names. Below the statue is a bronze plaque with the Cherbourg coat-of-arms.
