Portland stone statue of Bishop Ælfhun in a praying position. He has his hands held together in front of him holding a crook. He is wearing traditional Bishops head wear, and is covered in a cloak.

The mention of the death of bishop Ælfhun in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle is the first time that the placename 'Sudbury' is recorded.
