Bronze bust. The circular baseplate is shaped as a compass, with on the edge the inscription:
This day, when my Soul's form bends to the East. Hence is't that I am carried towards the West.
(the words East and West are below the agreeing compass points).
The plinth is also placed on a compass, with on the cardinal points the texts:
- (west) reader Lincoln's Inn.
- (south) married Anne More of Losely.
- (east) birthplace Bread Street.
- (north) N dean St Paul's Cathedral
