Description

Two roundels with half-figures in the facade. The roundels are circumscribed LORENZO GHIBERTI and BENVENUTO CELLINI.

  1. Lorenzo Ghiberti (Pelago 1378 - Florence 1455), born Lorenzo di Bartolo,Florentine Italian goldsmith and sculptor, best known as the creator of the bronze doors of the Florence Baptistery, called by Michelangelo the 'Gates of Paradise' (Wikipedia).
  2. Benvenuto Cellini (Florence 1500 - Florence 1571), Italian goldsmith, sculptor, draftsman, soldier and musician (Wikipedia).

Annotation

The first occupant of the building was William Spurrier, a reputable silversmith and an electroplater.
