Annotation

King George V was a friend of Thomas B.F. Davis, who commissioned the statue and gave the park to the island in memory of his son Howard Leopold, who was killed in the first World War.
The Société Jersiaise and the Island Wiki write that the sculptor was Sir William Reid Dick, however, since is signed by Doyle-Jones, I suppose the statue is made by Doyle-Jones, and after his dead in 1938 finished by Reid.
