SKULPURA
MITOLOŠKEGA KONJA PEGAZA

Legenda o nastanku rogaških vrelcev,
zapisana in upodobljena v bakrorezu nemške izdaje
knjige Roitschocrene (1687), pravi, da je bog Apolon
Pegaza pozval, naj udari s kopitom in odpre
Roitschocrene, rogaške vrelec.
Tako je Pegaz postal simbolni stvarnik
rogaški mineralne vode.
Na osnovi legende je Občina Rogaška Slatina
simbol Pegaza umestila v občinski grb in na zastavo.

STATUE OF THE MYTHOLOGICAL
HORSE PEGASUS

The legend about the creation
of the springs of Rogaška Slatina,
written down and depicted on the copper engraving
of the German edition of the book Roitschocrene (1687)
says that god Apollo ordered Pegasus to hit the ground
with his hoof and open up Roitschocrene,
the spring of Rogaška Slatina.
The legend is also the reason why the
Municipality of Rogaška Slatina placed the symbol
of Pegasus into its coat of arms
and municipal flag.
