Large monument with in the center a column, with on the top the angel of victory conjuring up the wreath of victory.

At the back of the column is an allegorical figure representing Belgium, at her foot is a coat of arms of Belgium and she holds a portrait of King Albert and Queen Elisabeth. As the sides two children bring flower sprouts. Below them is the text:
patrie - honneur
justice
and below this a palm branch with texts:
"aux glorieux defenseurs de la justice et la droit"
and
"le comite de secours aux déportes"
The column stands in the center of a semicircular wall with sculpture groups at both ends:

On the left a group of soldiers, turning in diagonal stance against the impending German enemy. A soldier is fallen, but the others continued to defend themselves. Below them the words 1914-1918 1940-1945 (front) and liberté (back).

On the right are the Verviers citizens (with a coat of arms of Verviers): the gunsmith with his tools in hand, the lace weaver, the house mother and the student. The latter does not look at the battle, but to the reaction of the citizens. Below them the words indépendance (front) and humanité (back)
