Description

Kinetic steel sculpture to honouring and commemorating Věra Čáslavská, created to mark the 2024 Summer Olympic Games. Věra Čáslavská, is depicted - with her characteristic bun which she wore during competitions - in three different-coloured (red, blue, white) gymnastic poses. These gymnastic poses of the figures, each in one colour of the national tricolour, are based on photographs capturing the actual poses of her whilst competing. As the sculpture rotates in the sunlight, the individual figures’ poses cast shadows and reflections onto the surrounding surfaces and buildings.

The sculpture is situated in a public space on the grounds of Tyrš House as a 'temporary installation'.
