Description

Statue of a wounded falcon (in Czech: sokol),Next to it, a plate broken into three pieces, marked 1., 2. and 3. odboj (= resistance).
The monument symbolizes the participation of members of the Czech Sokol Association in the three resistance movements and the violent bans imposed on the organisation, during both the First and Second World Wars and during the communist regime. It was unveiled on 24 October 2002 by the then mayor of Sokol, Miloslav Pleskač, together with Jan Přidal, who had initiated the idea for its construction.
