Statue of Alois Jirásek, seated and writing. It was created in 1954, but was installed six years later in the small park in front of the house where Jirásek lived.
On the sides of the plinth are two reliefs, which refer to books by Jirásek.
 1419: the battle mace referring to the outbreak of the Hussite Revolution in 1419. Jirásek wrote about this, amongst other things, in his historical novels and stories about the Hussites. |
 1695: the dog’s head, referring to the Chod people and Jirásek’s novel Psohlavci. The dog’s head is the symbol of the Chods, the border dwellers of Chodsko. The novel deals with their uprising against Lamminger and the events surrounding Jan Sladký Kozina, who was executed in Plzeň in 1695. |
