Medvĕd brtník
dostal své jméno od starého slovanského názvu
přírodních včelích úlů = brtí. Brtĕ daly jméno
říčce a pozdĕji i mĕstu Brtnici. Plastika
medvĕda brtníka bude trvale připomínat původ
názvu mĕsta Brtnice.

podporou Poslanecké snĕmovny Parlamentu
České republiky.

Brown Bear
got its name from the Old Slavic name
for natural bee hives - brtí. Brt? gave the name
to the river and later the town of Brtnice. The sculpture
of the brown bear will permanently commemorate the origin
of the city name Brtnice.

Erected in 2009, by the civic association of Brtnice with public
donations and with the support of the Chamber of Deputies
of the Czech Republic.
