Description

Equestrian statue of Friedrich Wilhelm IV. In this monument he is honored as a patron of the arts by the allegorical pedestal figures - religion, art, history, and philosophy. He ordered the building of the Alte Nationalgallery, which was built from 1862 to 1876.
The equestrian statue is made by Alexander Calandrelli after a design by Gustav Bläser.
