The main portal of the Sophie von Brabant school has a typan with a relief of a beehive and two bees. The keystone of the arch below shows the head of a woman (with trees in the background), and the capitals of the pilasters on both sides the head of a boy (also with trees) and a girl (with roses in the background). The side portal at the south side has on the keystone the head of an older boy, with oaks in the background.

The school was built in 1904-06 after designs of the architect Heinrich Schlumpp. It was then named Friedrich-Ebert-Schule. When this school merged with the Theodor-Heuss-Schule the name of the new school became in 2014 Sophie-von-Brabant-Schule.
