Beschreibung / Description

Drei mythologische Figuren in der Vexierwassergrotte unterhalb des Herkulesdenkmals: Pan, Eris und Chronos (Zeit und Tod). Die heutigen Skulpturen sind Ersatz für die ursprünglichen Barockfiguren. Die ursprüngliche Hauptfigur war nicht Pan, sondern der Zyklop Polyphem. Dieser wurde im 19. Jahrhundert durch Pan ersetzt.

Three mythological figures in the Vexierwassergrotte beneath the Hercules monument: Pan, Eris and Chronos. The present sculptures are replacements of the original Baroque figures. The original central figure was not Pan but the cyclops Polyphemus. He was replaced by Pan in the 19th century.
