From 1960-2007 the statue was placed at the Kurt-Schumacher-Straçe.

Die Spendertafel befindet sich im Eingangsbereich der Bibliothek

Return of the equestrian statues "Duke Carl Wilhelm Ferdinand and Duke Friedrich Wilhelm"
in front of the Braunschweig Residential Palace
The citizens of Braunschweig, together with entrepreneurs from the city, have
financed the return with great commitment.
The initiative by Mr Walter Meyer and Mr Gustav Klauenberg
was under the patronage of Mrs Mechtild von Veltheim and Dr Lothar Hagebölling
The donor plaque is located in the entrance area of the library
