Sandstone sculptures on the west portal of the north side. On two projecting pillars to the right and left of the portal, the Annunciation and in two niches immediately next to the portal St. Gotthard and Bishop Bernward with Epiphanius.

Around his staff a ribbon with inscription "ex te nascetur filius dei ui" (From you will be born the Son of the living God), and in front of him kneels a donor with a ribbon "[m]ater dei uiui miserere mei" (Mother of the living God, have mercy on me). Below the statue the inscription "S godehardus". |
