Hans Hesse der Jüngere
1455/1468 |

Seventeen life-size limestone statues on nine pillars of the west and north façades of the upper arcade of the Old Town Hall in Braunschweig. The male and female figures depict Ottonian and Guelph rulers and their wives. It is highly likely that all of the statues were created by a single sculptor, Hans Hesse the Younger between 1455 and 1468.
In the façade facing Breite Straße is a niche with a statue of St. Mary and Child.
