Seit der spanischen Besetzung
Vredens am Ende des 16. Jh.
wurden in der Mauerstrasse
und auf dem Domhof bis zum
I. Weltkrieg Hahnenkämpfe
veranstaltet.
In Erinnerung daran wurde
dieser mürhahnbrunnen
im Jahre 1986 von den
Nachbarschaften gestiftet.
