Sculpture group, placed on three large steps. One man, Fritz Geldmacher, is sitting on the second step, he has some papers on his lap, other papers lying next to him. He talks to a standing man, Willi Schriever, who has one foot on the lowest step. Next to the clog of the standing man sits a small mouse, looking up at a lurking cat on the top step. Both wear a neckerchief with a badge of the 'Aule Mettmanner', showing Saint Lambert and a coat of arms.
Fritz Geldmacher was the founder and for a long time 'Baas' (president) of the Civic and Homeland Association
"Aule Mettmanner". He seems to be in an intensive conversation with his companion Willi Schriever, who was known and loved for his dialect contributions.
The statues are placed on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the 'Aule Mettmanner' and the 1100th anniversary of the town of Mettmann.

On the paper on Geldmacher's lap is a poem in the Mettmann dialect:

On the othrer paper is a longer poem:
