Description

Sculptural scene with the dwarf king Goldemar (renewed 2021) falling down the stairs, while the kitchen boy looks at him.
The scene depicted is (full story here, in German):

At that time there was also a kitchen boy living on Hardenstein who really wanted to know what the dwarf king looked like. It was rumored that Goldemar had hands cold as a fish and soft as a mouse - but no mortal had ever laid eyes on him. However, the kitchen boy knew that Goldemar had a habit of going into the castle kitchen late at night to fortify himself with a few bites left over from dinner. The boy had a pla "If I now scatter flour and peas on the kitchen step, Goldemar will trip over the peas, fall to the ground and lose his magic cloak so that I can see him, but at least his shape will be outlined in the flour!" Said and done. The boy prepared everything, hid behind the kitchen door and waited, an hour, two hours. The bell chimed twelve times from Herbede - midnight. Suddenly something came down the hall, the boy heard it very clearly. The door creaked open, a shadow scurried in, then - a shriek, the dwarf king tripped over the peas and fell with a thump to the ground.
