Rathaus mit Roland

1226 wird Oebisfelde als Stadt erwähnt.
Ein Rathaus wird es also bereits
um 1200 gegeben haben.
Dieses Rathaus erhielt beim letzten
großen Umbau im Jahre 1892 sein
heutigen Aussehen. Der linke Teil war
einst "Ratskeller".
Der Roland zählt nicht zu den "echten",
da sein Ursprung nicht zu beweisen ist.
Der seit langem vorhandene Kragstein
veranlaßte den Rat, 1893 einen Roland
darauf stellen zu lassen. In der linken
Hand trägt er das Wappen der Stadt
und in der rechten das Schwert.
Der jetzige Roland wurde 1989 zur
975-Jahr-Feier der Stadt neu geschaffen.

Town Hall with Roland

In 1226 Oebisfelde was mentioned as a town.
There has to be also already
a town hall around 1200.
This town hall got during the last
major renovation in 1892
today's appearance. The left part was
once "Ratskeller".
The Roland is not considered a "real"
since its origin can not be proved.
The long existing corbel
prompted the Council in 1893 to erect
a Roland there. In his left
hand he wears the coat of arms of the city
and in his right the sword.
The current Roland is newly created
in 1989 at the 975-year anniversary of the city.
