The bust is removed in June 2020, the Kieler Nachrichten wrote, in translation:
"Historian Dr Uwe Danker came to the conclusion that the former mayor of Rendsburg, Heinrich de Haan, was a staunch anti-Semite. His family apologises to all Jewish people and asks the town of Rendsburg to remove and return the bust of their ancestor from the Altstädter Markt, which was donated in 2009."
