Findling transported during the last ice age on a block grey granodiorite from Oberlausitz.
On the front is a metal plaque with a map of the German Democratic Republic on with the southern border of the glaciers during the Quaternary - the so-called 'Feuersteinlinie' - is represented: "südgrenze des skandinavischen inlandeises im quartär" On the initiative of the geologist Otfried Wagenbreth in the GDR during around 1975 such monuments were erected on 13 locations along this border: Wernigerode, Blankenburg, Friedrichsbrunn, Stolberg, Gotha, Erfurt, Weimar, Jena-Lobeda, Weida, Zwickau, Chemnitz, Bad Schandau und Oybin.
