Statues - Hither & Thither

 

Description

Thirteen stone (concrete?) statues stand along the southmost street of 'La Villa de los Artistas' – a residential area of La Oliva.

They include female allegories for the four seasons, seven representatius of Venus and only two male figures: David of Michelangelo and the Discobolus by Myron. This kind of statues are for sale by various shops for garden statues. All except one of the statues here in La Oliva are for instance available from (Lonardi Tutti per il Giardino in Peschiera di Garda, Italy. We give here the Italian names from their catalogue.

Four statues facing the Calle Capellania de la Rosa Blanca represent the four seasons.
