Description

Monument with a plaque showing the logo of the Pilgrimage of Tegueste: a sailing vessel, a cart wheel and a tree.

The pilgrimage in honor of St Mark the Evangelist, held on the last Sunday of April, is one of the most popular pilgrimages on Tenerife. Thousands of people come from practically all over the island to witness the pilgrimage walk. The impressive decorated carts characteristic of Tegueste accompany the parrandas on their journey, while all those present enjoy the music, dance, local wine and good Canarian food handed out by the pilgrims.
