Description

Bronze statue of Chambord, sitting on one knee, and praying - in the direction of the basilique of Saint-Anne d'Auray. Before him lies the royal crown of France.
The pedestal is surrounded by four bronze statues of the patron saints of France and Paris, and the two great heros of French chivalry, Bayard and Du Guesclin:

Pierre du Terrail, seigneur de Bayard, know as Bayard (Château de Bayard in Pontcharra, Isère 1476 - Romagnano Sesia, Piémont, 1524), known as "the knight without fear and beyond reproach" (le chevalier sans peur et sans reproche). He himself however, preferred the name given him by his contemporaries for his gaiety and kindness, "le bon chevalier", or "the good knight". (Wikipedia).
