Saint Peter and Saint Paul

The apostles Peter and Paul are often depicted together. In Catholic tradition, Peter is said to have founded the church in Rome with Paul, served as its bishop, authored two epistles, and then met martyrdom there along with Paul.

Description

Two cast-iron, red-painted statues flanking the entrance of the little Chapelle Saint-Dominique.

The chapel is built c. 1876 to honor the combatants of the 1870-71 war fallen on the battlefields of Gravelotte, Rézonville, Saint-Privat, Vionville and Mars-la-Tour.
