Statue of a Boer War Tommy in khaki drill uniform lunging with rifle, bayonet fixed. It is placed on a rough hewn plinth resembling a rocky kopje. It was built by the Leeds Slate and Granite Company and executed by a now unknown Italian sculptor.
Unveiled by Field Marshall Earl Roberts on 5 August 1905.
