Richard Havard wrote us on 23 June 2019:
"This fountain was transported from Craig Y Nos Castle in the Swansea Valley where it was situated in the winter garden. The winter garden was presented to Swansea on the death of the world famous opera singer Madam Patti whose home was Craig Y Nos, and is now called the Patti Pavilion.
My grandfather had transported this foutain from Craig y Nos to Swansea ????? I think he may have transported it to Penwyllit Railway Station near Craig Y Nos for forwarding by railway to Swansea.Madam Patti had a private waiting room at this country station on the Neath and Brecon Line.
It was allowed to decay over the years but was put back into working order mid 1960s (?) not sure of its condition to-day but I don't expect it still works!"
