Statue of sir Robert Peel. "The design of the statue is good, and the likeness faithful. The right hon. baronet is represented addressing tlio House of Commons, his left arm resting on his hip, and his right holding roll of paper," wrote the Illustrated London News. It is unveiled on 20 August 1852 it stood originally in front of the Town Hall.
