Annotation
On this spot is the Roman fortification Contra-Aquincum, around which in the Middle Ages the town of Pest was built (Wikipedia).
Originally, the sculpture was the centerpiece of a fountain. With the reconstruction of the square the sculpture is relocated and the fountain removed.
