Description

Marble statue of Queen Maria, with the robes and the laurel wreath of Minerva, protector of Arts and Letters. It stands on a pedestal with text, the Queen's coat of arms (back) and reliefs on the sides. The pedestal is surrounded by allegorical statues of the four continents.

Diogo Inàcio de Pina Manique (Lisboa 1733-Lisboa 1805, Wikipedia), dressed in the magistrate's robe, presents his prot&@233;gés to the Queen. On the base of her throne the symbol of the Sacred Heart and the Basilica of Estrela.
