Bronze bust on granite base, existing of a square pedestal of black granite on an octagonal red granite base. The floor of the base is designed as a compass (to include all the world's people who came to America); inscribed on the base are the , and on the eight granite blocks at the compass points are different inscriptions.

The red granite base has:

CELEBRATION COMMITTEE
names of the council, and the individuals who contributed money towards the monument.
The inscriptions on the red granite blocks are titled:
