Description

Bronze sculpture of five figures representing the inhabitants of the five continents. The figures, supporting a globe decorated by foliage, are participating in a demonstration, fists raised in defence of peace.

Annotation

Donated by the City of Moscow to the City of Helsinki and unveiled on 14 January 1990. In 2008, the World Peace was voted both the third ugliest and also the third most loved statue in Helsinki by the readers of Finnish newspapers.
